First of all, hello and welcome to my site! I hope you've
enjoyed what
you've seen so far. Michele Savage, who created and maintains the site for
me, has done a fantastic job with it; I want to begin by acknowledging her
hard work. Thanks Michele!
What's new? Well, I just returned from London where I've been filming "The
10th Kingdom" for NBC. It's a huge, ten hour mini-series that hits the air
in February of next year. (Check out other parts of the site for details on
that.) I was there for over six months, the longest single shoot I've ever
been on. What an incredible life experience it was. We were based in London
and did most of our filming in England's fabled Pinewood Studios. However we
did bounce around the North, (Durham: where we shot on the royal family's
private quail hunting estate, if you can imagine...) and Southern coastline
of England (Dover: yes, the famous cliffs thereof...) to pick up location
shots. June and July found us in Austria and France, which was absolutely
sublime. We shot in a variety of tiny Austrian and Alsacien villages; one,
for example in Austria, Hallstatt, where we were based for a number of weeks,
is set far up in the mountains, southeast of Salzburg, on a magnificent
glacial lake, and dates back about 4000 years. Breathtaking doesn't even
begin to describe the beauty of the place. And I think it will really show
in the shots our directors got. All in all, a top job. But I must say, I'm
glad to finally be home
Next, it looks like I'll be playing C.K. Dexter Haven in a Los Angeles
production of Philip Barry's classic comedy, "The Philadelphia Story." We're
scheduled to start rehearsals in LA in February and open in March. More
details to follow at a later date.
Best wishes, and thanks for stopping by my site!
Hugh
